Why is my SUMIFS returning 0?

SUMIFS goes row by row and only adds a row when every test passes. When two tests point at the same column, they both check the same cell in each row — and one cell cannot be “Card” and “Cash” at the same time, so the total is always 0.

A value can look like a number while it is actually stored as text. The tests may all pass, but SUMIFS cannot add text amounts, so the total comes back 0.

SUMIF and SUMIFS take their ranges in opposite orders: SUMIF puts the sum range last, while SUMIFS puts it first. If you keep the old order, the tests run on the wrong columns and nothing matches.
